RESIDENCE QUALIFICATIONS FOR RENT ALLOWANCE.

110.

(1)

The absence of an officer from this Colony for not more than 42 days at a time, shall not disqualify him for or affect his rent allowance for that period, but leave spent in this Colony shall not count as residence unless it is short leave not exceeding 42 days or sick leave: this period may only be extended in special cases by direction of the Governor on grounds of hardship.

(2) An officer will not be eligible for the rent allowance laid down

for officers with dependants unless his dependants reside with him in the Colony for a period of at least one year in each normal tour of duty.
